Marshmallow Fluff Fruit Dip: The Nostalgic Two-Ingredient Dip You Forgot You Loved

Fluff Fruit Dip is one of those recipes from your childhood that maybe you forgot about — until you have it again and then boom…. Ratatouille moment.
You know exactly what I mean. One bite of something and suddenly you are eight years old again at a summer cookout, standing next to a dessert table with a strawberry in your hand and absolutely no interest in leaving. Yeah, this dip does that.
It is two main ingredients. It takes five minutes. And you need to try this again.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 jar Marshmallow Fluff
- Maraschino cherry juice (from the jar) or vanilla extract to taste
- Fresh fruit, vanilla wafers, pound cake, or graham crackers for serving

How to Make Marshmallow Fluff Fruit Dip
Step 1: Make sure your cream cheese is fully at room temperature before you start. This is the most important step — cold cream cheese will not whip smooth and you will end up with lumps. Set it out on the counter 30–45 minutes before you plan to make the dip.
Step 2: Using a hand mixer, whip the cream cheese and the entire jar of Marshmallow Fluff together until smooth, fluffy, and fully combined.
Step 3: Splash in maraschino cherry juice or vanilla extract a little at a time, mixing and tasting as you go, until the flavor is exactly where you want it. The cherry juice adds a subtle fruity sweetness and a very faint pink tint that is genuinely pretty in the serving bowl. Vanilla extract gives it a more classic, bakery-style warmth. Both are wonderful — it really comes down to what you have on hand and what you are serving it with.
Step 4: Transfer to a serving bowl and surround with your dippers of choice.

What to Serve with Marshmallow Fluff Fruit Dip
This is where things get fun, because this dip goes with almost anything sweet. Here are our favorites:
Fresh Fruit — Strawberries are the classic and the most popular by a wide margin. But hulled strawberries are just the beginning. Fresh pineapple chunks, apple slices, grapes, raspberries, blueberries, banana slices, and mandarin orange segments all work beautifully. A mixed fruit platter arranged around a bowl of this dip looks stunning on any dessert table.
Vanilla Wafers — The slight crunch and vanilla flavor of a wafer against the creamy, sweet dip is genuinely perfect. These are especially good when you want something a little more substantial to scoop with.
Graham Crackers — Broken into dipping-sized pieces, graham crackers add a honey-brown sugar note that plays off the marshmallow flavor in the most satisfying way. S’mores vibes, no campfire required.
Pound Cake — Cut into cubes and skewered on toothpicks for easy dipping, pound cake turns this from a fruit dip into something closer to a fondue-style dessert. It is one of the most crowd-pleasing ways to serve it at a party. Our Cranberry Lemon Pound Cake is a wonderful option here — the citrus and cranberry in the cake are a beautiful contrast against the sweet, fluffy dip.
Angel Food Cake — Light, airy cubes of angel food cake with this dip is a combination that could easily qualify as its own dessert. If you love our Angel Food Salad, you already understand the logic here.
Pretzels — If you have a crowd that likes the sweet-salty combination, mini pretzels or pretzel rods make a surprisingly wonderful dipper. The saltiness of the pretzel cuts through the sweetness of the dip in the best possible way.
Tips and Notes
Room temperature cream cheese is non-negotiable. Cold cream cheese does not whip properly with the Fluff and you will end up fighting lumps instead of a smooth, fluffy dip. Thirty minutes on the counter is usually enough.
Make it ahead. This dip actually holds up beautifully in the refrigerator for up to three days, which makes it ideal for party prep. Cover tightly and bring it back to room temperature for a few minutes before serving — it loosens back up to the perfect dipping consistency.
Double the batch for a crowd. One 8 oz. block of cream cheese and one jar of Fluff makes a generous bowl, but if you are feeding a large gathering, this doubles perfectly. Use a stand mixer for a double batch — your hand mixer arm will thank you.
The cherry juice vs. vanilla question. Both work beautifully but for slightly different applications: cherry juice if you are serving with strawberries and want a fruit-forward flavor, vanilla extract if you are serving with pound cake, wafers, or graham crackers and want something that reads more like a frosting or cheesecake dip. You can also do a small splash of each and meet somewhere in the middle — that is our personal preference.
