Easy Tropical Party Punch with Rum
(Our Kwajalein Softball Favorite)

Looking for a crowd-pleasing party punch recipe that disappears fast? This tropical rum party punch was my go-to during softball nights while we were stationed on Kwajalein Atoll. Served ice-cold from a big drink dispenser, it was always the star of the post-game party – and it helped turn me from “Team Snack Mom” into that years MVP!
This easy adult party punch combines three types of rum, juicy pineapple, citrus, and lemon-lime soda for the perfect sweet-tart tropical flavor. It’s ideal for summer parties, beach gatherings, military get-togethers, or any large celebration.

Party Punch Ingredients:
- 750 ml Clear Rum
- 750 ml Malibu Coconut Rum
- 750 ml Pineapple Malibu Rum
- 92 oz. Pineapple Juice
- 1 jar of Maraschino Cherries (with juice)
- 26 oz. Orange Juice
- 3 cans of Lemon Lime Soda
- Sliced Lemons, Limes, Oranges (Frozen to make natural juice ice cubes)

Instructions for Party Punch:
- Pour the clear rum, Malibu, Pineapple Malibu, pineapple juice, orange juice, and maraschino cherries with their juice into your favorite drink dispenser.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Top with the lemon-lime soda just before serving to keep it fizzy.
- Add frozen citrus slices as natural ice cubes and serve immediately.
- Enjoy!
Party Punch Storage Tips:
If you have leftovers, transfer the party punch to smaller drink dispensers or pitchers and store in the refrigerator. Best enjoyed within 2-3 days. Note: The soda will lose its fizz over time, so you may want to add fresh soda when serving leftovers.
The Story Behind This Party Punch:
Nate was asked to play for an ad-hoc co-ed team our garrison air traffic control team decided to put together for the island’s summer softball season. Despite never playing any baseball type sport since he was 12, they made him the pitcher. Wanting to support our new team, The Blue Footed Bobbies, I took it upon myself to become the team Snack Mom.
For our first post-game hangout, I loaded up our cooler onto our rattly folding aluminum bike trailer, and drug it down to the field. Inside the cooler: Jello shots, cookies, orange slices, and sammies. Along with this tropical party punch.
It became such a hit that I ended up bringing our mobile Party Punch trailer to every softball night (along with all sorts of snacks and treats). The team and us always ended up staying till way past they turned off the game lights, enjoying the food, drink, and comradery.
After the final game of the season, the team named me MVP and they all signed a card and generously donated as a form of reimbursement. Just thinking about that gets me a little misty eyed.

MVP Snack Mom Pro Tips for the Best Rum Party Punch:
Make it ahead: Mix everything except the soda up to 24 hours in advance and chill. Add the soda right before the guest arrive (or when the final out is called).
Keep it cold: Use the frozen citrus slices instead of regular ice so the punch doesn’t get watered down.
Scale it: This recipe fills most large drink dispensers. Double it for bigger crowds.
Non-alcoholic version: Skip the rums and add extra pineapple juice or a splash of coconut water for a kid-friendly tropical punch.
Garnish ideas: Add fresh pineapple chunks or edible flowers for a prettier presentation
