“What makes a dish a “hot dish”?”

In the Midwest, a hot dish is essentially a casserole—usually a protein, starch, vegetable, and creamy binder (like canned soup) baked together. This ravioli version follows the spirit while adding Italian flair.

“Can I use fresh ravioli?”

Yes! Fresh ravioli will cook faster, so check for doneness earlier.

“Is this recipe kid-friendly?”

Absolutely. Kids love the cheesy pasta pockets.
